Waverly Road Sidewalk Improvement Project
The City of Tallahassee is designing sidewalk improvements along Waverly Road that will enhance safety and mobility in the area. This project will incorporate a sidewalk along the full length of Waverly Road on the north side of the road, from Meridian Road on the west to Thomasville Road on the east.
Because topography along this corridor varies, the project will make use of three sidewalk designs to accommodate different slopes. These sidewalk designs can be seen below. The sidewalk will be separated from the road wherever possible to provide users additional distance from vehicles.
Project Progress:
An Open House to review the concept design took place on March 26th, 2024 at Freedom Church. City staff from the Underground Utilities & Public Infrastructure Department were on hand to discuss, answer questions, and receive feedback regarding the proposed sidewalk. Comments were received and the project is currently in design.
Upcoming Events:
A public meeting is tentatively set for Spring 2025.
